The top player in the world, according to the CIES Football Observatory’s evaluation of the top 100 players, is Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain.
Alongside Erling Haaland and Vinicius Junior, the French striker leads the assault on a new £176 million, three-year contract with PSG.
With Ruben Diaz, Phil Foden, Joao Cancelo, and the most recent acquisition, Haaland, Manchester City can claim of having four players in the world’s most valuable eleven.
The dominance of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo over world football is rapidly coming to an end as both players were left off of this year’s most valuable eleven players.
The most expensive player in this year’s CIES Football Observatory’s top eleven is Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe, who has just signed a new three-year contract worth £650,000 per week and is valued at £175.7 million.
The other two strikers chosen by CIES in the top eleven are Erling Haaland and Vinicius Junior, whose respective market values are estimated to be £130 million and £158.4 million, according to the Daily Mail.
Goalie Donnarumma of PSG, midfielder Phil Foden of Manchester City, and the trio of Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo, and goalkeeper Donnarumma of PSG are also among the top eleven players in a 4-3-3 system.
The CIES calculates a player’s transfer value by considering their earnings, their club’s performance in other leagues, and the time left on their contract.
