Barcelona intends to clear off a large number of players this summer and has identified seven players who are no longer needed at the club.
Barcelona coach Xavi wants to rebuild the Catalan giants to be competitive and has instructed the club to sell Memphis Depay and six other players. Xavi is anxious to add more quality players to his squad, notably Bayern Munich attacker Robert Lewandowski.
Memphis Depay is among the players Xavi has instructed Barcelona to get go of during the summer transfer window as the club attempts to rebuild its roster in order to be competitive again.
The Catalan powerhouse finished last season trophyless, finishing second in La Liga behind Real Madrid and having a dismal season in Europe.
Depay, who has fallen down the pecking order at Camp Nou, has now been named as one of four players certain to depart the club this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
Riqui Puig and Oscar Mingueza, both academy graduates, have been named as two further players who could depart the club this summer. Frankie de Jong is also anticipated to leave Barcelona this summer, as the Dutch midfielder is closing in on a deal to Manchester United of the English Premier League.
